KAU Programs

KAU Little League is open to players who reside in or attend public or private school within the geographic boundaries of both Unionville-Chadds Ford and Kennett Consolidated School Districts.  The Little League Program is designed for players of all skill levels and age groups. Our priority is to develop fundamental baseball skills while demonstrating outstanding sportsmanship.

Spring Little League Baseball
  • Tee-ball: Ages 4-6. T-ball Division introduces young players to the game of baseball/softball. For 2017 there will be 2 divisions (Rookies & Minors) to accommodate  more players.  The T-Ball Divisions starts a little later than the other divisions to allow for  warmer weather.  Teams will be assembled around April 10th and the season does not begin until the 3rd week of April.
    • Rookies T-Ball this division is for all league age 4 year olds and first time playing 5 year olds.  This division will only play on Saturday and the first half of the allotted time will be for practice and the last 45 minutes will be a game.  Each team will have a coach but parent(s) are required to participate.  
    • Minors T-Ball - Players age 5 and 6 will participate in one game over the weekend and have a practice during the week.  
  • Minor D: Age 7 (and some age 6). This is a machine/coach pitch division primarily for 7-year olds. Six-year olds who have at least one year of T-ball experience may play in the Minor D division. 
  • Minor C: Age 8 (and advanced 7-year olds). This is a kid pitch division except there are no walks. If a pitcher throws four balls, then the coach finishes the pitches to the batter. 7-year olds can qualify for this division if they demonstrate required pitching skills at the pre-season annual evaluation.  The field size is 46/60.
  • Minor B:  Age 9. This is a kid pitch division.  The field size is 46/60.
  • Minor A:  11-year olds* who do not play in the Intermediate Division and all 10-year olds.  Most games will be played on a 46/60 field, 4-6 games will be played on the 50/70 field. 
  • Intermediate Division:  Thirteen-year olds who do not play in the Junior League, all 12 year-olds, and advanced skill 11-year olds as determined by the annual pre-season evaluation.   All games played on 50/70 fields. 
  • Junior/Senior Divisions: League ages 13-16.  Thirteen-year olds have the option of playing in either Intermediate Division or Juniors.  Juniors is played on the field with 90' between the bases. Seniors division is comprised of ages 15-16 year olds.
  • ChallengerLeague Ages 6-21

 


 

Spring Little League Softball

  • Rookies: 7 and 8 year olds (6's with previous experience)
  • Minors: 9 and 10 year olds
  • Majors: 11 and 12 year olds
  • Juniors: 13 and 14 year olds
  • Seniors: 15 and 16 year olds

Fall Little League Baseball

  • Minor C:  7 and 8 year olds
  • Minor A : 9 and 10 year olds
