Q: What does KAU stand
for?
A: When KAU was founded in 1952, it offered baseball programs
for children in the Kennett Square, Avondale and Unionville areas, thus it
was named KAU Little League. With the growth of the Avondale and
West Grove areas over the years, a separate Avon Grove Area Little League
program was started so KAU Little League is now for children in the Kennett
or Unionville school districts but the original name has not changed.
Q: Is KAU Little League operated by the local borough
or township?
A: No, KAU Little League is an independent, non-profit, charter-member
of the national Little League program headquartered in Williamsport, Pennsylvania
and goverened by a local, voluntary board of directors.

A: KAU registration fees only cover a portion of the costs
of operating the league. The concession stand provides significant funding
to buy equipment, uniforms, etc. KAU is an all-volunteer non-profit organization
with no paid staff so we depend on parents to help make our league a success.
Q: Are umpires for KAU paid or volunteer?

volunteers who offer their time and talent so the kids can play baseball.
Parents and spectators should never argue calls made by the umpires or make
derogatory comments.

of bad weather, team photos will be taken at the Kennett High Schools.
Q: Where are KAU Junior and Senior League home
games played?

School. From the intersection of Union and South streets in front of the High

left, turn right into the alley that leads to the field.

Q: What can be done about unruly spectators at
games?
