The goal of KAU Little League is to provide a positive youth sports environment for children throughout our local community. We seek to support our players in developing general athletic ability and core baseball and softball skills, while demonstrating outstanding character, sportsmanship, and teamwork.
KAU is open to players ages 4 - 16 who reside in or attend public or private school within the geographic boundaries of both Kennett Consolidated and Unionville-Chadds Ford School Districts. KAU is designed for players of all skill levels, and offers tee ball, baseball, softball, and a Little League Challenger Division. We strive to create fair and balanced teams every season.
Please see below for information on our Divisions for the 2019 Spring Season. Below the division information is an age chart to help determine your child's "league age" for the season. 2019 Spring Little League Baseball
In general, the KAU Spring Season starts in the late winter, with player evaluations conducted in late February (for certain divisions only). Team assignment happens shortly after, with league coaches reaching out to the their teams in mid-March. Practices begin in late March, and games start the first week of April; the exception is tee ball, which will start later to allow for warmer weather. The season runs approximately 10 weeks, and concludes with playoffs around mid-June. Please see below for more detailed information on each division.
Tee Ball (Ages 4-6)
The tee ball division introduces young players to the game of baseball/softball, and is open to boys and girls ages 4-6. For 2019, there will again be be two tee ball divisions to accommodate players of more ages and their families.
- Tee Ball - Rookies. The tee ball Rookies division is for all league age 4 year-old and first-year 5-year old players. This division will only play on Saturday, where the event time will be split to allow for both instruction and game time. Each team will have a coach but parent(s) are required to participate.
- Tee Ball - Minors. Players age 5 and age 6 will participate in two events per week. Weather permitting, there will be one game during the weekend, and either a practice or game during the week.
* Please note: The Tee Ball Divisions start a little later than the other divisions to allow for warmer weather. Teams will be assembled in early April, with the season projected to begin later in April (typically the 3rd weekend of April).*
