Parent Information

Information for Parents

Hi Parents, Grandparents, and Guardians…  thank you for supporting KAU Little League and enrolling your child (or children) in one of our programs.  Here you will find relevant information for new and returning parents, details on what your child will need for the upcoming season, what you can do to help, and who to contact if you need to get in touch with someone.

The Essentials

All players must have their own glove and wear pants.  For younger ages, it’s also recommended that players wear baseball/softball cleats.  While the league provides helmets, it’s a good idea for players to have their own helmets (for both fit and hygiene).  Some players may have their own bats, but it's not necessary, and the league provides these as well.  For Little League Approved bat requirements, learn more here:  Little League Bat Info

For guidance on glove and bat sizing, its generally recommended that for younger ages to err on the side of smaller versus larger.  It's easier for the younger kids to manage a smaller glove or bat, and helps promote better fundamentals if they can control the equipment.

For older ages, most kids will have their own gear - gloves, bats, bags, etc.  However, the league provides helmets, bats, and catchers gear if necessary.

In addition to the gear, every player in the league is provided a jersey and hat at the start of the season.

Calendar of Events

For parents / families new to the league, please see our League Calendar for a general timeline of events for our primary spring season, fall season, as well as other important events like meetings and fundraisers.  LEAGUE CALENDAR COMING SOON.

How to Get Involved

There are a number of ways to get involved in KAU.  The league runs on the support of all our volunteers and we'd be thrilled to have you help.

  • Coaching.  At the start of every season, we are always in need of coaches, both head and assistant.  You can sign up as part of the registration process. You can find more information on Volunteers here.
  • Team Support.  During practices and games, coaches may need help on the field, in the dugout, or even organizing post-game snacks.  Ask your team coach if you can help in any of these areas.
  • Umpires.  Please reach out to Steve Hunter if you are interested in umpiring games during the upcoming season.  We can coordinate clinics with our local umpire associations.
