2025 KAU Spring Softball

KAU Little League offers a great youth sports option for our local community. KAU is open to players who reside in or attend public or private school in Unionville-Chadds Ford and Kennett Consolidated School Districts. Starting with the 2025 season, children League Age 4-7 will have the ability to register and play for any local Little League program they choose, without respect to any geography or school-related eligibility requirements. 

We rely on a player's "league age" for determination of division age ranges. For the 2025 Spring Softball season we are basing this on the 2025 Age Chart published by Little League. 2025 Softball League Age Chart. Each team will have players that are similar in age.  Please see division descriptions below for age ranges.  

2025 SPRING SOFTBALL DIVISIONS

Girls Tee Ball Rookies: this division designed for 1st time players ages 4 & 5. This division will be Saturday Only. The teams will rotate through stations and learn the fundamentals of softball, at the end of each session the teams will play a game. Players need to be 4 years old by April 1st, 2025.

Girls Tee Ball Minors: this division is designed for players ages 5-6. The Tee-ball Division plays one game each weekend (typically Saturdays between 10 am and 2 pm) and may practice once a week.

Rookies Softball: Rookies softball is an introductory program for 7 and 8 year old girls just learning to play the game. There is no stealing. Pitching is primarily done by coaches. Uniforms are included in each player's registration costs. Guardians are responsible for providing a glove and pants. Cleats, a bat, and a helmet are recommended but not required. Team helmets are available to be shared by the teams.

Minors Softball: Minors softball is a developmental program for 9 and 10 year old girls looking to improve their skills. This program introduces stealing, player pitching, and live game rules. Uniforms are included in each player's registration costs. Guardians are responsible for providing a glove and pants. Cleats, a bat, and a helmet are recommended but not required. Team helmets are available to be shared by the teams. 

Majors Softball: Majors softball is a developmental program for 11 and 12 year old girls looking to improve their skills in preparation to play the game at a higher level. This program follows all the live game rules of softball. Uniforms are included in each player's registration costs. Guardians are responsible for providing a glove and pants. Cleats, a bat, and a helmet are recommended but not required. Team helmets are available to be shared by the teams. 

Juniors Softball: The Juniors League Softball is for participants 13 and 14 years old. This Division uses a conventional 60-foot diamond with a 43 foot pitching distance and with few modifications to the Little League rules of play. The primary goals of Juniors Softball is to reinforce the fundamental skills necessary to be competitive at this Division and experience the value of teamwork.  

Seniors Softball: The Juniors League Softball is for participants 15 and 16 years old. This Division uses a conventional 60-foot diamond with a 43 foot pitching distance and with few modifications to the Little League rules of play. The primary goals of Juniors Softball is to reinforce the fundamental skills necessary to be competitive at this Division and experience the value of teamwork.

PLEASE NOTE: For all divisions, start dates subject to change based on weather, field availability, and clearance from the state and local governments.

REFUND POLICY: Upon registering your child for KAU Little League, you have committed your child for the season. No refunds will be provided after uniforms are purchased. At the discretion of the Board, exceptions may be granted for medical or relocation accommodations.

KAU reserves the right to alter division structures based on registration numbers and skill level. Divisions will be created to ensure the best playing experience for each participant and to create fair and balanced teams.
