We rely on a player's "league age" for determination of division age ranges. For the 2025 Fall Softball Season, we are basing this on the 2026 Age Chart published by Little League, found HERE. Each team will have players that are similar in age.  Please see division descriptions below for age ranges.  

Softball Tee Ball: For tee ball, players ages 5-6 will participate in a Saturday only program. Players will learn the fundamentals in a fun environment. Guardians are responsible for providing a glove. Face masks, cleats, a bat, and a helmet are recommended but not required. KAU Softball has equipment available to be shared by the teams as needed. All games for Tee Ball are held Saturday mornings.

Softball Rookies: Rookies softball is an introductory program for 7 and 8 year old girls just learning to play the game. There is no stealing. Pitching is primarily done by coaches. Uniforms are included in each player's registration costs. Guardians are responsible for providing a glove, face mask and pants. Cleats, a bat, and a helmet are recommended but not required. Team helmets are available to be shared by the teams. 

Softball Minors: Minors softball is a developmental program for 9 and 10 year old girls looking to improve their skills. This program introduces stealing, player pitching, and live game rules. Uniforms are included in each player's registration costs. Guardians are responsible for providing a glove, face mask and pants. Cleats, a bat, and a helmet are recommended but not required. Team helmets are available to be shared by the teams.

Softball Majors: Majors softball is a developmental program for 11 and 12 year old girls looking to improve their skills in preparation to play the game at a higher level. This program follows all the live game rules of softball. Uniforms are included in each player's registration costs. Guardians are responsible for providing a glove, face mask and pants. Cleats, a bat, and a helmet are recommended but not required. Team helmets are available to be shared by the teams. 

Softball Juniors/Seniors: The Juniors League Softball is for participants ages 13 and up. This Division uses a conventional 60-foot diamond with a 43 foot pitching distance and with few modifications to the Little League rules of play. The primary goals of Juniors / Seniors Softball is to reinforce the fundamental skills necessary to be competitive at this Division and experience the value of teamwork.

Refund Policy: Upon registering your child for KAU Little League, you have committed your child for the season. No refunds will be provided after September 1, 2025. At the discretion of the Board, exceptions may be granted for medical or relocation accommodations.
